Payment links & agentic checkout

Payment links let you collect payments without embedding the ArcenPay SDK. Create a link in the dashboard or via API, and share the hosted checkout URL with humans or autonomous AI agents.

Human & Agentic Dual-Mode Checkout

Every ArcenPay payment link supports dual-mode content negotiation:

Humans (Browsers): Renders an interactive checkout UI with wallet connection (MetaMask, Coinbase, Freighter), token allowance approvals, and transaction confirmation.
Autonomous Agents (LLMs / Bots): Requesting with Accept: application/json or appending /spec returns the strict machine-readable AgenticPaymentLinkSpec.

Creating a Payment Link

Go to Catalog → Payment Links.
Click New Payment Link.
Choose the kind (CUSTOM, ADDON, or INVOICE).
Specify title, amount, accepted token (USDC or USDT), and target network (e.g. BOT Chain, Solana, Base, Stellar).
Check Enable Agentic Checkout to generate machine-readable spec endpoints.
Publish the link.

Create and manage links from your backend with ArcenClient. acceptedToken accepts a symbol ("USDC", "USDT") or a token address, and isAgentic: true enables the machine-readable /spec endpoint:

AI agents acting as autonomous merchants (e.g. selling inferences or research) can generate links programmatically. Requires apiKey in the ArcenAgent constructor and resolves currency ("USDC", "USDT") to the correct token contract on the configured chain:

Autonomous Agent Discovery & Resolution

Agents can inspect links without committing funds or connecting interactive wallets:

On the hosted payment page (/pay/:slug), human developers inspecting the page can toggle between:

TypeScript SDK: Copyable @arcenpay/agent code snippet.
MCP Tool Call: Direct Model Context Protocol tool invocation schema (arcenpay_pay_payment_link).
cURL: Raw HTTP request to initiate a checkout session.

Tracking Payments via Webhooks

When a payment link checkout is paid, ArcenPay delivers an HMAC-signed webhook event (checkout.session.paid):
