Feature flags let you decouple feature release from code deployment. A flag answers a simple question: does this company have access to this feature? ArcenPay resolves flags against the company’s active plan, add-on grants, manual overrides, and optional rule conditions — giving you fine-grained control without redeploying your application.

Flag types

How flags resolve

ArcenPay evaluates flags in priority order:
  1. Company override — manual per-company on/off override takes highest priority.
  2. Plan-linked auto-rules — rules auto-generated from the plan the company is subscribed to.
  3. Manual rules with conditions — custom targeting rules you define with operator-based conditions.
  4. Default — the flag’s default value (on or off) when no rule matches.

Rules and conditions

Each flag can have multiple targeting rules. Each rule contains:
  • Rule type — BOOLEAN (always match), EVENT (match on event data), TRAIT (match on company traits), or ZKTLS (match on verified claims).
  • Conditions — one or more conditions with attribute, operator, and value fields.
  • Priority — rules are evaluated in priority order; the first matching rule wins.
Supported operators: equals, not_equals, includes, not_includes, greater_than, less_than, matches_regex.

Creating flags

You manage feature flags from the dashboard under Features → Feature Flags. Each flag requires:
  1. A unique key (e.g., analytics_export, priority_support)
  2. A name and description
  3. A flag type (boolean, event, trait, or zkTLS)
  4. A default value — what to return when no rule matches
Optionally, link the flag to a plan so that subscribing companies automatically get the flag enabled.

SDK access

Check feature flags from any SDK:

FeatureFlagGuard component

The React SDK provides a declarative wrapper for conditional rendering:

Bulk flag checks

Use the GET /api/v1/check endpoint to resolve a single flag, or GET /api/v1/entitlements to resolve all entitlements for a company in one request.
